120 & 300-game players introduced

Here is the first step toward introducing the Menu section, I will be introducing the 120 & 300 game players.

This is due to the fact I think I am not being fair to the players currently still playing in the S-league as their data are not introduced until they have left the game or S-league but yet their contribution are not recognised for the length of their career.

At the same time, some of the players like Wilkinson or Alam Shah etc do have their data listed on the blog due to the fact they left S-league for a while but is back now.

So can one say they deserved to be listed but not others like Dainel Bennett or Indra Sahdan etc.

Also the likes of Bennett or Indra will likely be induct into the Hall of Fame section and looking at my production rate, it will take even longer as even now I have yet to introduce Therdask Chaiman or Park Tae Won etc.

However, they deserved to be honoured and before they retired as I never understand why people have to wait for retirement to show appreciation when they can do it sooner especially when these players deserved it.

So with a 120 and 300 game milestone, these players will have their data updated when they reached that target if not with a write-up.

At the same time, I will not be overwhelmed for the data of all the players will not need to be updated regularly for if I was to update all the players yearly, I will not be able to keep up and have to stop.

A balance that can honoured the players in the S-league yet I will not be overwhelmed.

Menu created

I have created a new section to be known as the Menu page.

Reason being that there are now increasingly too many players to know who have been added and who have not.

Also, viewers coming into the blog looking for certain players will know if those players have been added in or not.

However one should not expect I to create a menu for nation with only a few players onboard.

That is why I create a few ground rules.

  1. Min number of players needed to create a Menu for the nation is 30
  2. Will take the first alphabet of the player name even if it is not his surname as different culture mean some surname are the last name. However, I will ignore that as I want to standardize how I want to put the players.
  3. Will take the commonly know name of the players and not the official name as some  will know the official name maybe longer and totally unreconciled with their know name.

The first menu page I am set to create is of course for Singapore even though they are fewer than needed 30 now as I have a backlog of players but in the next few months I will be adding them as I am compiling the data now and it will be well over that number.

Also there will be a rule change to be announced next month so as to be fairer to players still playing in the S-league now that will add more players to the list.

The Singapore menu page will be out next month after I released a few more players name.

Special allowance for Etoile 2010

After special thoughts, I have decided to include Etoile players who had played in last season championship.

This is despite many have not met the minimum requirement of playing over 3 season and no less than 60 games combined.

This is due to the fact Etoile players had won the championship and not including them does not give them due credit in my view.

However this offer is only for the French team of 2010 and they must have played the full season and not come in halfway or left halfway.

At the same time, I want to maintain standard so they must have played no less than 1/3 the league season meaning a min of 12 league games before I can include them.

So quite a few member of Etoile FC championship winning may not be included as they failed to meet this target

New category - Others - introduced

I have introduced a new category named Others.

It is meant to differentiate S-league, Singapore Cup and League Cup from other competitions like Charity Shield and FAM_FAS Series as well as the 2006 Malaysian FA Cup which the Young Lions played in.

Others will meant I can put these competitions - which do not appear on the Singapore calender every year - there as they should still be counted as official as they are recognised and endorsed by FAS.

Edited Mirko Grabovac history

I have edited Mirko Grabovac history

Reason
  1. Changed his Singaporean status to Croatian
  2. Forgotten to include ASEAN Club Championship to his honour
  3. As a result of Point 2, I edited and added in this

His 7 goals in Asia that year, in the AFC Cup and ASEAN Club Championship, also aided the Champions cause as they successfully negotiated their way into the quarter-final for AFC Cup as well as win their first international trophy at their first attempt.

Tampines Rovers was now crowned King of ASEAN and the 34 year-old has to take his bow for 1 of his 4 goals at the ASEAN Club Championship came at the crucial time in the Final to level up the score at 2-2 after Pahang have gone ahead 2-0.

The Stags would build on his goal and go on to win the ASEAN trophy 4-2 against Pahang.

First goal introduced

I will be adding extra information to the Players stats

This will be the first goal which the players score for their clubs.

I wanted to add more but then decided against it as it will be a difficult job when it come to somebody like Egmar & Mirko who have scored over 200 goals

Introduction

The idea of this blog is to give information on players who may not qualified (in my POV) for Hall of Fame at the main blog at S-league: Facts and Figures yet they cannot be forgotten as they have given their efforts in building up the S-league.

Also by having a separate blog, it will be easier for the viewers to search for the players they wishes to view as one can break them up at the links.

The players at the Hall of Fame will also be appearing here and in the main blog.

However, for the players not in the Hall of Fame, there be no writeup on their history in the S-league but stats like appearances and goals will be given.
